yeah thranx that makes a lot of sense... anon can't be involved because if they were they would let it be known that they were responsible... resulting in the FBI going into investigations against them because of the severity of the situation and the scope of those affected... that makes a lot of sense man, i really wonder why no one is seeing things your way?

Apparently, the firm is claiming Anonymous were responsible for the attack, as a file named Anonymous was found on one of Sony’s servers with the words “We are Legion” attached to it.

Really? You can pin the blame with a text file? :)

Sure why not

yep and with those assholes recent history, evidence are 'against' them.

and I don't think they said they were responsible tho right? I think they just said a file was left by the hackers with that name.

honest to god if I see one more guy defending hackers I'm gonna lose it!

or not but yea you get the point

I'm not defending the hackers, but no, you can't pin the blame on them because of a text file, if it wasn't annoynomous that did this they could easily have put that there to implicate anon and take the heat off them.

Two things to consider here:

1) If anonymous hacked PSN, they wouldn't deny it.

2) If they deny it, they wouldn't insert a text file named "Anonymous" saying "We are Legion."

Its contradictory and hence doesn't make sense.

again I have been blaming them since the begining, this just adds on to it a bit. and I do agree that the text file can be an attempt to frame by another hacker or sony themselves, but given how Anon operates, I would put past them to pull something stupid like this. Especially since they don't seem to have a leader and have many members.

Wait. What? I don't see anyone defending "the hackers". Did I miss something?

thranx is.

I am? pleas show me how i am defending them

You did say:

"No i dont agree. I have yet to see sony supporters reconcile the fact that sony did not keep their server software up to date which is a basic security task."

So that means the hackers have a right and are not to blame for hacking Sony's servers.

I think you are reading too much into that

Maybe, but I'm not the only one reading too much into "simple" statements.

Again, anonymous is more than just OPSony. If Anonymous really did hack it than I would really doubt it was OPsony as this goes against what they originally said

lol. I gues if you want to add all sorts of word to my sentance that i didn't say then yes. Or you can read the words i did say erlier where i said hackers are at fault too. No I am not blaming anon for this. I really know nothing about them. First I ever heard about them was with this sony mess. But most organized groups do like to claim "credit" for their actions and i have seen anon do nothing but deny this.

But you accused M.U.G.E.N. of painting every hacker as being evil.  He shouldn't have had the need to feel that he need to clarify himself.  Also, you do not believe me that there have been several good aguments that favored Sony as I mentioned earlier.  So why should I believe you?

That's the thing about anon. Anon is not a funded well organized foundation like the EFF. Anon is no more a singular entity than, say, muslims or christians, or the tea party.

Just because the people that call themselves the leaders of anon haven't done or ordered anything, doesn't mean some outsider who considers himself anon, can't be anon.
