I checked some reviews... and Street Fighter IV receive better scores than Mortal Kombat 9.

By metacritic SFIV = AAA (90 plus), MK = 85.

Devs could easily make a plat trophy that requires you to put in 500 hours into a game.

Trophies do not = content.

 

Take away the trophies and MK9 easily has more to do.

As far my opinion go, i'm much more of a Guilty Gear and Blazblue fan myself (or in a lesser extent, Arcana Heart. Though, i'm still waiting for the AH3 release in europe). Never liked Street Fighter much in my life, and i really though that could change with SSFIV, but haven't change little. I'm still not a fan.

I don't have a better opinion about Mortal Kombat either. I've only played MK2 on sega Genesis, but that was enough to put me off that series.

Edge give MK9 6/10.

SFIV received a 9/10 from magazine.

Most magazines/reviewers have the same felling I posted in OP.

Mortal Kombat has just NEVER done it for me. In terms of 2D fighters I'd rather play Blazblue, the Versus series, Guilty Gear, or Street Fighter (in that order as well). I don't know what it is, but the West just CANNOT make a fighter that competes with the Japanese made ones. I just find all the ones I listed to be better designed and easier to play (though admittedly some of them have content issues that need to be worked on)
