So Sony would be facism and MS would be the despotism and Nintendo the social democrats/idealized socialists?


 

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

This is a wierd concept, and I don't think it works for me...

...although I do feel compelled to agree with the crazzyman-fascism idea

PSP is the white lady
Wii is the Vice president
Xbox360 and PS3 are congressmen
PS2 is a successfull senator on his way to the retirement home to join Gamecube, GBA, etc...

Just like in realife the idea of communism isnt a bad one, some may see it as a good and perfect society where everyone is equal and everything belongs to everyone. However that never works and communist government become more like fascist ones.

Nitendo gives us great new innovative ideas and new ways to think about VG. We feel like they are here for us but in the end it is no more than a console in place for rich corporates to get richer.

 Ah but they also produce systems for the masses at a reasonable price, combating the excessively expensive systems of Sony and MS, very much for the people, very much like social democrats, who want to maintain capitalism but make it friendlier to the masses

The problem is that there need to be 4 extremes and each needs to be the counterpoint to another extreme. If we are talking about fanboyism and not the similarities/disimilarities of the consoles then the PS3 & 360 are clearly one set...but what it the other set?
