FBI and other (Interpol) were always going to be involved. This isn't some random idiot not sending a Unencrypted DVD with data on it with it being tracked (see UK incident a couple of years back), this is some guy hacking into a server breaking through security and stealing millions of customer's data.

If caught they are going to jail for a fair while.
