Sony fans generally don't care about their personal rights if it costs Sony money, well that's what you'd believe reading some of the threads on here.  Common sense dictates you can't just absolve yourself of all blame in a ToS/EULA, hence why they frequently get challenged.

If Sony is proved to has been negligent with the personal informations of everyone im not sure that there will be that many Sony fans defending them. With the actual situation though, its easy to understand why some defend them. Sony had thousands of hackers on their back and a system that remain unhack for the past 5 years, im not that sure we are talking about negligence. Lets follow the class action lawsuit and we will know for sure. Surely, the ToS cant absolve you of a specific country legislation.


You'd think not but Sony seem happy to think laws don't apply to them as they go around removing features people have paid for and then there is the entire rootkit fiasco.  I'm probably being unfair here as other companies do similar practices too and try and steam roller the consumer.  Thankfully in the UK at least we have plenty of government backed watchdogs to keep consumer rights at the forefront.

It's pretty clear the system remained unhacked for so long in main due to the Other OS feature.  Removing it on the slim I think brought across a lot of hacking talent that just wasn't interested before.
