I knew this, I set this up the same day I bought my PS3.

It is a major change then how it is on default.

its not default because some TVs dont support super white or full RGB.

Couldn't there be a "Does this look alright?" test upon starting up a new PS3?

there is, the PS3 will auto-set what it beleive is best specs/resolution. Super White is for HDMI users.

Super white is for the YCbCr color space, for watching movies in that color space. RGB full is for the RGB color space, which movies can be output in, or for PS3 games. If your TV does not support the full RGB spectrum (0-255), the blackest blacks and whitest whites will be "crushed" - meaning that black #'s 0-15 will all look the same, rather than being different (same is true for the white end of the spectrum). If your HDTV has a DVI input it might support RGB full with a HDMI->DVI cable, because PC's output in 'full' mode (you will have to use a different audio output option though). Almost all HDTV's except for more recent higher end ones do not support RGB full through HDMI.

i noticed a big diffrence from switching RGB limited to full. screen was fuzzy now its more vibrant. if that makes any sence. and my TV is not a monitor.

End of 2011 Sales: Wii = 90mil, 360 = 61mil, PS3= 60mil

Are they f'ing serious? I did this the day I got my HDTV. How can Gametrailers and Gamespot not know something as simple as this?

I remember Gamespot's two separate ten page articles (given ample space on the front page) proclaiming "360 has better graphics!" based on minor differences between games like NFS. The make a mountain out of a molehill, inciting fanboy riots on System Wars, and the molehill turns out to be complete BS? Gamespot truly is biased towards MS. I'm surprised SMG managed to get the GotY there.

Also, this explains why Gamersyde's comparison videos always differed from Gametrailer's. People on the Gamespot forums used to accuse Gamersyde of being PS3 fanboys because the ps3 versions of games looked as good as the 360 versions in their comparison videos.

I just changed mine a couple days ago and I don't know that it changed that much, but you may as well do it.
