it might be a good decision for sony (and microsoft) to cut to 250 now, waiting for nintendos new console to come out next march for a 199 price cut

Good read. I think it's definitely possible. Some people fail to see the big picture, taking more loss on the ps3 hardware with the expectations of larger returns on other products (3D & Bluray). It is a gamble though. I would expect them to do a two step cut and/or a slimmer slim. I think theres another CELL/RSX revision.
