Forums - Gaming - Ten simple rules Nintendo has to follow to win back the hardcore gamer

I realize this is a Rol thread and what he's doing but to be honest its pretty damn simple what Nintendo have to do.  And not as intense as your trying to make it out to be.

1.  Bring quality software out at a steady pace with good 3rd party support.

2.  Have a competent online system

3.  Some form of centralized ID with an achievement / trophy system.

All of these could easily be done by Nintendo.  Hardcore gamers won't care if Nintendo supports the casual audience at all as long as there's actually something for them to play as well.

You can't honestly bash "core" gamers for not likeing the Wii, due to the fact that there is very little on the console that appeals to their taste.  There is some great core games for sure but not near as many as on the 360 or PS3.  There's nothing wrong with that either its just that Nintendo went with a different demographic.

There's no mention of core gamers at all in my thread.

Rol I'm an acitve enough and poster and been here long enough I realize how you make threads.  And they're very funny, great use of sarcasm and such.

But your thread title simply says "how Nintendo can win back the hardcore gamer"  I simply responded to that.

So while I'm sure you'll snag a couple of other posters to falling for it not me

Some ridiculous people may complain even if Nintendo goes third party. Plus, Nintendo may not feel up to reading the four paragraphs of rule #10 so they may not follow that rule. As such, it would be best for them to follow rule #11, the real rule to rule them all:

11. Stop making video games

Hardcore gamers rejoice!

I find quite interesting that in Rol threads the best post are the ones of the people that fall in the thread XD

Other than that, funny stuff, specially number 4

I'm afraid this falls under, "Too true to be funny."

Which I guess is fine, as long as you aren't trying to be funny.

I just pointed out that this thread is no attack on core gamers which your last paragraph implied. I am allowed to defend myself, right?

yeah no I have no problem with your thread at all, in fact I think its pretty damn witty.

My last paragraph was more a general statement than targeted at anyone in particular.  Some Nintendo fans get upset that "core" gamers aren't fans of the Wii and I was just saying, well people shouldn't blame them because honestly Nintendo didn't show that demographic much support.  Again nothing wrong with that at all, just different strokes for different folks.

Rol is my favorite comedian on here, only one of those that makes sense to me is the online part. I don't think any of the other stuff would make the next system more hardcore. I think its software that makes hardware hardcore and Nintendo themselves makes the best hardcore software in the industry. They just need the hardcore third party software and their set regardless of what else they do.

Its one of the best O.P. / Rol threads ever.

Anyway hardcore people use real names so why don't they link their online with Facebook so essentially as soon as one of your friends links their facebook to their console they go on your friends list. Who wants to deal with stupid names like 'Gavin321' which makes it sounds you're playing with some stupid kid with a number when you could instead play with 'Gavin Mathews', that guy you know as that wierd cleaner in the office who somehow added you on facebook.
