The final round of Gears of War 3 beta entrants is upon us and many of the pre-order entrants are anxious to get started after the Bulletstorm Epic Edition owners and special invites have had their fill the last two weeks. Just like everything else on Xbox LIVE, don't expect the beta to be available as soon as the date rolls to April 25 though.

The Gears of War 3 beta goes live at approximately 5 a.m. EST / 2 a.m. PST on April 25 per Epic's Cliff Bleszinski. Not only will those that pre-ordered the game at GameStop and other internation retailers be able to get in but the King of the Hill gametype will be added as well.

Don't be surprised if the beta is immediately available at 5 a.m. EST as the changes to the servers have to propagate across Xbox LIVE first. Same thing goes with the King of the Hill beta type. Players already in the beta will have to log out and log back in before seeing the new gametype added.

Epic has changed up the original beta schedule a bit by already adding in the Trenches map. Here is the schedule for the remaining three weeks of the beta.

• April 25th – May 1st: Team Deathmatch and King of the Hill on Thrashball, Checkout, and Trenches.
• May 2nd – May 8th: Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, and Capture the Leader on Thrashball, Checkout, Trenches, and Old Town.
• May 9th – May 15th: Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, and Capture the Leader on Thrashball, Checkout, Trenches, and Old Town.

Wait what if u did not pre order Gears 3? u cant play the beta?

I've been On the beta pounding on people. my K/D is at 1.8 and going up.  However how long does the  bulletstorm epic edition beta go for. Because gamestop said only for a week which I told them it was wrong and thought it had went on for the whole month.

If you want to get the beta just go put down 5 bucks on gears 3 and get it from gamestop. That simple.

I just got my beta key from a free giveaway website and I can say for sure, that multiplayer in Gears Of War 3 is pretty cool. Actually, it's better than cool. It's amazing, jaw-droppingly good. A long ways away from the clunkiness that plagued GOW2.
