How exactly did the court case and media circus stop pirates from doing their thing?

Trust me, Sony regrets this

sony have shown they do not learn from mistakes.  even so its highly unlikely they view this as such.  a corporation has successfully trampled on an individual and personal rights, thus making it easier to do so in the futre and you think they are going to regret it?

That's like saying you regret going after a criminal, because someone else took that criminal's place. How do you know Sony regret's this? I for one applaud sony for trying to take a pro-active approach.

Sorry, what was the pro-active thing that they did to stop piracy?

should the US regret trying to wage a war on terrorism?   just because the fight is hard and the enemy is elusive doesn't mean the fight isn't worth fighting.

what the OP is talking about. Let me explain my point in more detail. There's always going to be criminal activiy, there's always going to be criminals and there's alway's going to be hacker's and piracy, but that doesn't mean you just sit back and do nothing. You should fight for your livelyhood, and you should fight for what's right? Let's say someone stole something from your place of business,do you not then,go and try to catch the person and maybe add extra security.

A better question would be: "Do you think Sony regrets boasting about their unhackable console?"

Couldn't have put it better (since threads like this usually make me cringe - generally feeding frenzies for negativity).

what's wrong with negativity and venting? I'm just joking.

I posted this on other blog.

Funny Geohut WON the same lawsuit that Apples slapped him with that Sony's doing now. He's the one who raps about Sony, then talks big about Sony in interviews, and then flees the country? WTF? He's making himself look guilty it's his EGO why this whole thing is the way it is. He is such a TOOL(keyword remember that) all this for nothing really.

IDK why encourage people to hack the PSN like that's gonna make Sony back down. Only made about 90% of the PS3 owners pissed. Who knows who caused this PSN outage If it was him and his minions well not just everyone hates you but there can be criminal charges coming your way.

At the end of the day your just ruining the consumers purchuse just cause you have a beef with them. All this for well nothing he didn't do this on Apple's why do it now?

Sony shouldn't be the one regreting this Geohut should be he's public enemy number #1 to PS3 owners. His EGO why this is the way it is just cause of video games how childish.
