Some guy wrote this on an Amazon.com forum. He basically spends most of his time bashing ps3 and 360 in comparison to Wii and PC. Most things he says sound totally bogus to me, but figured I'd get other people's opinions. The main thing I wanted opinions on was his comment about 360's graphical superiority (p.s. I don't want a flame war here, just facts). The great majority of things I hear regarding graphics between ps3 and 360 are that ps3 is superior in most cases graphically (exclusives). However, I don't know that much regarding the technical stuff behind graphics (fill rate, etc.). I know for multiplat games, 360 versions used to be considered superior; but, it seems like both versions for most games (besides Bayonetta, Crysis 2, and a few others) released in the past couple years have been said to be equal. Anyways, here is his comment:
From a technical standpoint, (better graphics, more games, frames per second*) you'd be better off with 360. *the 360 vs ps3 thing is not opinion, 360's graphical superiority (in the majority of games) is empirical fact. I dislike both so it doesn't matter to me, but if you disagree, you disagree with science.
Allow me to seperate fact from opinion.
Fact 1)
The majority of games run smoother and look better on 360 than PS3.

This is a fact. Fill rate is a fact. Frame rate is a fact. The amount of visual effects are a fact. These are testable and not opinions, so unless you're against the scientific method, it's something you'll have to accept. But again, who cares? Consoles are for fun games to play with the family, which is why they're placed in the *family room*. If you want to play online games by yourself, don't hog the entire home entertainment center! 360 and PS3 were made to do single player or online gaming in the most social room in the house, and it doesn't work. Not if you're part of a happy family that does things together. The only thing PS360 are good for is last-gen style story-based gaming, like Metal Gear Solid IV or Alan Wake. Too boring and easy for me, but if you like interactive fiction, that's where to find it.
Fact 2)
As for "computer gaming falling behind" - it's actually the fastest growing gaming platform, and as of 2010, represents 43% of total gaming revenue. Much higher than 360/PS3 combined. See here:

The only console worth owning is Wii, and yes that's my opinion, but it's a very well informed one. I can play all those 360/PS3 90+ rated multiplatform games on my PC (with far better visuals,) and Wii gives me the best social/motion/retro gaming. Both incredible systems. And honestly, my Wii gets more use. It's a great time to be a gamer!
Fact 3)
Most people agree with me, Wii is the best console this gen. How do I know? They vote with their reviews (more 5 star reviews than PS3) they vote with their dollars, and they vote with the number of games they buy. Wii has sold more software and more hardware than any console this generation (source: NPD, yearly earnings reports from MSFT, SNY, Nintendo,) therefore, most people believe it to be the ichiban.

What gamers like you fail to realize is that PS3 is a niche console for a niche market. It is not popular and few people think it "the best." You read game news sites every day? Wake up call: you are in the minority of gamers. You read "game journalist" editorials, you appreciate "professional" reviews, you pay attention to award lists. You are part of a niche market of young males, not quite old enough to afford a quality desktop/laptop, but "mature" enough to convince mom & dad to buy the latest, greatest 9+ rated violent war game.
Last gen your "niche" wasn't a niche, it was mainstream, but now the gaming market has expanded in a big way. Real adults play games, and we are the majority. We prefer flash games, MMO's, Minecraft and Wii.
