In July last year, I made a thread signifying the lack of retail PS3 exclusives that had OFFLINE Multiplayer. It was with good reason too. There were barely any PS3 exclusives with Split Screen
Look at this list of exclusives with Split Screen. (I'm not including any yearly releases, Sports games, etc)
2006
- Resistance 1 (It was fun but it's outdated now)
2007
- Warhawk (Awesome)
2008
- Resitance 2 (meh)
- Motorstorm 2 (okay)
- LittleBigPlanet (awesome)
2009
- None (Great year but Not a single game with splitscreen, WTF!)
2010
- Modnation Racers (okay)
- Gran Turismo 5 (not a sim fan)
- Move Games (not a fan)
I love my single player/online games as much as the next guy, but come on Sony! I want to play with my real life friends sometimes. I was beginning to think my PS3 would never get any time with my friends. D:
And then look at this year.
2011
- LittleBigPlanet 2 (haven't got it yet, will wait for price drop)
- Killzone 3 (me and my friends had fun with this one)
- Motorstorm 3 (haven't got it)
- Resistance 3 (YES! Not only does it look better than R2, It also Has Campagn CO-OP again!!)
- R & C: All 4 One (YES! INsomniac has answered my prayers! 4-Player CO-OP)
- Twisted Metal (YES! The first TM on the PS3)
- Uncharted 3 (YES! I would have never thought it would be possible but U3 will have SS)
I'll finally get to play some games with my friends.
I think it's safe to say, Sony stepped their game up!
