Welcome To my new VGC series. Rate The Retro. Here you will find memories and classics of all Generations. To start I have chosen one of the best Star Wars titles ever to be released. So without further adue.

Super Empire Strikes back was a fantastic blend of shooter and visuals for it's time. The added ability of Force powers and Lightsaber use was also a welcome addition to the gameplay itself. But most importantly it was a great platformer. THQ used many tricks of the snes era to provide top rate visuals such as Mode 7 and transparency, which in the 16 bit was out in front before the FX chip showed it's face. 

The story was obviously following the film. But the highlights were certainly great lightsaber useage and of course fighting Darth Vader.

But bloody hard, only reason I got anywhere was with Cheat codes... even if that was just to hear Vadar say 'Impressive' when you entered them.

8.5/10 - very hard but very very good

(Plus) Solid gameplay, excellent visuals and sound, very challenging.

- Sometimes it gets a bit too challenging...

I... actually played this just recently o.o

Nostalgia aside this game is kind of meh 

I have trouble remembering my experience...keep mixing up this and Super Star Wars

I could only get so far in it before I had to use the gamegenie code of invincibility to finally finish and complete it.

I personally gave a 9. Loved it from start to finish. Am I the only one who finished it without a code???????????

Also thanks to everyone who has sent me messages saying the like this thread and it's idea. I'll be keeping it going. And sprucing it up.

I finished it too without code.

But I finished Lost Dimension, Battletoads and Ghosts n Ghosts (or Gobblins) without code too... these three were harder than Super Empires Strikes.
