also; sony better keep DS as their standard controler (DS4 is required) because i like move but not as my standard control method.

While I agree that both MS and Sony better keep a standard controller standard with their next console, please, for the love of God, end the DualShock line. The controller layout is antiquated and every time I pick up a 360 controller, it feels more so.

Sony really needs to design a controller based around modern triggers and stick placement. They are probably the most important parts of a modern controller and were both afterthoughts in the current design. It's time to build a controller around the modern gamer, Sony.

The Playstation 4 using the same Dualshock design would be enough to make me hold off buying the console for a year or two until there were enough exclusives to force a purchase. That's how much I dislike the design.

i ear you... not that i am not satisfied with the dualshock layout... what i was trying to say is that "Sony better keep a standard controller standard" with the same layout or with a diffrent one.

Thankfully, I don't see any way they can completely abandon the standard controller. There are far too many games that rely heavily on its proliferation of buttons and input controls. As great as the Wii is, no one wants to play a 50 hour RPG with the Wiimote. Some games work best with traditional controls.

To go a step further, I don't even care for long sessions of FPS gaming with the Wiimote. It's fun in some situations but when I'm settling in for a lazy gamer marathon session, waggle can go fuck itself. I want a controller I don't have to move.

Go Sony!

Microsoft is a day 1 purchase for me. I'll get Sony later and there is absolutely no chance of me getting another nintendo console.

Microsoft. I'm switching my allegiance next Gen.

Sony. I'm a blind fanboy, but not really that blind. Microsoft doesn't interest me that much, I already use their OS everyday, no reason to also use their console. Plus Sony hasn't let me down yet in any console (including PSP). What I hope they DON'T do is whore out the IP's they already have while providing vastly underpowered hardware. But they won't, because that's not the Sony way (See quad-core NGP). Their 1st Party studios are FTW. Just wish they could have gotten Insomniac (Or at least real them into exclusive contract for PS4)

I don't have solid and blindless allegience as it is now, even owning the console. I don't think I can make a snap judgement as to what console I'll buy next generation, whichever will appeal to me the most, I personally really really really dislike the PS controller, but then again there are probably ways around that. As long as games interest me I'll be a buyer.

my friend NotStan

exactly wht i was looking for.

only about 5 people have come to this conclusion other than the OP which is me as i voted (to early to tell).

yea im sure there are other controlers for PS3 or 4 that may fit your interest.

You don't have to have blind faith into one of manufacturers to have at least strong ideas pointing toward  one of big three:

- trophies/achievments - if you like them you might find console from the same manufacturer more appealing

- backwards compatibility - if you have big game collection chances are you will be more tempted to buy system that plays them or you might buy competitors consoe with bc to have access to previous gen titles for platform you didn't have this time.

- strenght of first party studios - we know more or less who has what resources for developing exclusives

- ip library - we know who owns ips for our favourite heroes

So i'm one of people who voted to early to tell because I have my favourites but i don't take them for granted and radical shift in big 3 characterists would change the stuff i plan to buy but in last two gens only Wii was drastic shift in manufacturer history.

PS3 was similar to PS2 , PS2 was similar to PS1

X360 is like an upgraded Xbox

Gamecube was similar to SNES then Wii made radical change.

Chances that all big three pull Wii in the next gen are small.

sum's it all up for me.

a focus on the past, present, and the future. agreed totaly

Well, I'm most likely to look at Nintendo's next system, so I voted that. However, it's not written in stone that I will indeed get it. While the Gamecube had a few good games, there really weren't enough to make me feel good about owning it. If the Wii's successor looks to be the same, then I'll pass on it. And depending on what happens with the categories of games I like on other systems, there even remains a chance that I'll go portable only next gen...

observation is key and its seems as if you've got it.

yet your post seems more on the lines of i'll see wht happens first which is wht i expected.

They'd have to impress me first. I'm not putting down $500 on a console just based on the company manufacturing it, that'd be silly.

exactly.
