If you happen to work in retail, members of Microsoft Expert Zone which is an electronics employee training hub can be granted access to the “hot” Gears of War 3 beta going on right now. According to the official rules, they currently started off with 40,000 beta codes.

Here’s How to Get Your Gears of War 3 Beta Code

1) Successfully complete and submit the Gears of War: Mission 1 course on ExpertZone.

2) If you haven’t already done so, verify your employment with ExpertZone. (Must be a accepted retailer or place of work.)

(It may take up to five business days for employment to be verified after you submit documentation.)

3) Once the course and employment verification are complete, a banner will appear on the ExpertZone home page with a link to retrieve the Gears of War 3 Beta Code.

“I completed the course. Where do I get my Beta Code?”

On completing the course and verifying employment, the ExpertZone home page will display a banner that says “you’ve earned it.” This banner will link to your Beta Code.

“I clicked the “You’ve Earned It” banner, but it’s telling me that I still need to verify my employment. How do I get my Beta Code?”

To verify your employment, click the Verify link at the upper-right of any ExpertZone page to visit the employment verification page. Please note that it may take up to five business days be verified after submission of documents.

“I took the course and am a verified employee, why am I not receiving the Beta Code?”

Please check that you’ve completed Gears of War: Mission 1 and clicked the “Submit Training” link on course completion.

Limited time offer good only to legal residents of the 50 US or DC age 18 , who are employed in a retail sales or support role at any Microsoft Retail Sales Partner authorized to participate in the U.S. Microsoft ExpertZone program (each, an “RSP”). You must verify your employment to participate.

To receive one (1) beta code for Gears of War 3, you must be one of the first 40,000 RSPs to successfully complete the Gears of War: Chapter 1 course starting March 1, 2011 and verify your employment in the ExpertZone. Beta Codes and instructions for redeeming will be available in the ExpertZone beginning April 15, 2011. Limit one (1) Gears of War 3 beta code per RSP. Luckily I was able to get my hands on a beta key not five minutes ago... I missed the initial giveaways due to being at work, but I just found a legitimate blog handing them out. I found some other giveaways that were scams so I was wary, but this one has panned out and I've received my key.
