I chose improve a little. Revievers would still have problems with the lack of machanical damage in all race kinds, standard cars and slow menus, but mainly cars and tracks missing I think. (I'm not sure since I don't want to play GT5 with the cotroller and I can't use my wheel right now, so I haven't tryed the game with most of the updates, but I think the mechanical damage is not present in all the race types no?)
Also, as far as I remember, there was no mentioning of better shadows in any of the patch notes. Is it really the case that the shadows are better or not?

Well, this is how it looked before:

It's definitely improved a lot since.
The metascore would stay just the same. Let's deal with it.
Still, this is GT5 we are talking about and by that I mean a quality product that fans will enjoy and most praise anyway (I include myself among them).
It will probaby scratch the 90.
But yeah, like other already said, the hype is what killed the metascore. People were just expecting too much.
@OP: Everybody who criticises GT5 because of lack of "fun" can't expect to be taken seriously and should review other genres.
updated: 14.01.2012
playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles
Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped: the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA
bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.
Reviewers were well out on this game, they were taking away points for essentially nothing, as if to say, if it's not perfect it's getting 80.
would be the same. reviewers would spend 5 hours with the game like before.
Being in 3rd place never felt so good
it would get 85. yep.
Try my new level at LittleBigPlanet: Amok's Cave ;D
Currently playing
PS3: Uncharted 3, Resistance 3.
Wii: -
Hyped for: The Last Guardian, Binary Domain.
it would be easily in the 90s...some reviewers only played GT5 for 5-6 hours and scored it...they dont even saw the Night races with rain or weather change at 24 hour races...and all competitions...it is just wrong...its like you rate a Final Fantasy but dont even played it through...
Does it matter? Polyphony pushed out a game in 2010 that should have released in 2008. By the time they got around to releasing the damned thing, Forza had moved the bar so far forward that what would have been "holy SHIT" gameplay was just more "eh, that's pretty cool" gameplay.
Sony and Polyphony have no one to blame but themselves here.
