That has been on my mind all day lol. |
These "things" apparently don't have a life, so it would be easy to rough them up....or just plain crumble.

But what Anon is doing by threatening the PSN and going after high ranking Sony officials families and such is beyond rediculous. |
no he just published the tools to commit piracy and ruin the experience of real gamers looking to enjoy our games.

Sony had every right to take Geo to court. The problem here is not the lawsuit itself, it is the fact that the court ruled in Sony's favor (when really they should have thrown it out to begin with).

Why should the court's have thrown this case out?

The question i'm asking myself is "what does sony get if they win?", I mean wouldn't have been easier to hire him an put him on the security team?

The amount of evidence Sony had should not have been enough to warrant the court looking into giving away private information such as the IP address of the people who watched the video. That is the part that should have been thrown out, not necissarily the case itself.
Was it enough for a civil suit against Geo? Or enough to take the video down permanently? That is up to the courts to decide.

They will end up with information they should not have: The IP addresses of everyone who watched the videos, the financial records of everyone who donated to Geo...etc.
You know, there has to be more to this entire endeavor. Sony has to be looking for something in particular in all of this personal info.
Let me be clear tho. I believe Sony had every right to seek legal action in every aspect possible. Does that mean they should win every suit they bring forward? No.

Well considering the how many accounts there are for PSN, Sony could have made a strong case of the potential threat of those consumers losing personal information that could tie to bank account information.
Geo really stepped in it, especially since Sony believed he did agree to the ToS Sony had for PSN. Lucky for Sony, they were right. Plus Geo was gaining money because of his hack. Whether directly or in-directly.

I agree, I won't be surprised if they drop the suit without giving a clear reason.
