The second you announce someone is investigated their alignment is known to everyone. The mafia don't have to guess who is on their side. It is up to the town to figure out who is really on our side. If he investigated Wonk then he would either follow it with a lynch, or confirm the person investigated is one of the good guys. Stating Wonk is innocent is redundant.
The starting sith lord bit has me in an interesting thought process though. By lore the apprentice replaces the master upon the death of the former. The apprentice is very often involved in speeding this process up. So what if there was an incentive to try and do so? I dunno what though. My guess is a chance to recruit someone new for the apprentice. Supposing this can only happen once it would not only give three people but also reconcile game balance with source lore. This all depends on how strictly Heph wanted to follow the lore though.
