I've been pretty busy today, the fastest I can get on tommorow would be 3pm eastern. I do think Bazaalmon is acting pretty strangely, he might just be trying a different play style but I don't buy the "Acting scummy to be town thing".

Prof told me to act scummier.  I saw prof as a "veteran" so to speak being.  Being that it was my first game I've ever played, I assumed a "veteran" would know what he was talking about, and if he says I need to act a little scummier as a town, then I need to act a little scummier as a town.  If you were playing your first game ever, and a "veteran" gave you advice, would you not attempt to put that advice into play in your next game?

Prof, I rather despise you for telling me this advice, as it has rather ruined any and all fun I've yet to have in this round.

Did he specifically say "scummier"?

Don't know what he specifically said, but I know that is what I interpreted it to mean, and I've learned my lesson.

Tell me how you've tried to act scummier, and I may unvote you.

Most veterans will vouch that one or two scummy things will keep you alive from the mafia, tell me how you tried to be scummier, with examples please.

The things that people are on you most for are saying "assets", and for questioning my "gork" only to look at the same idea later and think it is fine. So tell me how either of these was a purposeful act of scumminess. Because I'm not able to see the thought process behind it.

1.) I've already explained perfectly what I can about the gork, how I originally thought nothing of it, and I eventually came to think it could mean something.  There was no scumminess about my changing opinions on the topic, but there is scumminess in continuing to go on and on about it when others insist you stop, until Heph finally put the cabosh on things.  I would have never pushed an argument this far in the last game, ever.  I would have mentioned it briefly, and for the most part, let it go after that, as I was afraid to look bad.

2.) In regards to the s on assets, it was a spelling mistake, as I've made clear already.  There was no intention of sounding scummy by accidentally adding an s to the end of this.  Labeling myself as an "asset" in the first place, was, however, intended to sound at least a little scummy, but I felt the tradeoff for what this can potentially offer the townies in the future in regards for possible evidence far outweighed me looking a little scummier, granted I didn't think this would lead to me being potentially lynched on the first day already.  If this is what it really takes for any potential evidence to become worthy of discussion, though, then so be it, lynch me, but please don't make it all wasted effort on my behalf, as it is rather insulting to put this much thought and time into a game only for all effort to mean nothing.

It wasn't just an accidental "s".  You said, "...since you seem to want to rid the town of assets."  "Asset" just doesn't work in that sentence in place of "assets"; you clearly wrote it as the plural, not singular, form of the word.

I was willing to believe that you unthinkingly wrote it that way even though you only meant one player and not more than one, but I am calling bullshit on the claim that it was just a slip of the finger that turned "asset" into "assets".

WOW, I literally can't say anything to please people.  Spelling mistake, grammar mistake, it was a mistake, that is what I'm saying.  It was never intended to be plural, and I was absolutely dumbfounded when somebody said I was referring to Trucks as well as myself, and honestly had to chuckle that something so stupid was found.  I cannot for the life of me believe it has spiraled into this.

If this shit is going to continue, please just vote me out now, PLEASE, because I'm wasting my time putting this much effort into a game so the town can win, when over and over and over, every fucking word I say is interpreted with the thought that I am scum.

Some advice from a "veteran" as it were. First off, deep breath. This is not personal. This is all we have to work off of so everything will be blown out of proportion. Secondly, your over the top defensiveness is hurting your case. Every post so far has made my decision to vote you seem better than the last.

If you are innocent just take a 5 second breather, compose your thoughts, and post them elequently as possible. If you have made every point you feel you can simply leave it as is for now and attempt to persuade people to vote elsewhere rather than for you. The case is made currently and people have either decided to vote for you or not. Those that have not voted for you implicitly agree with at least part of your argument and thus you are in less danger than you appear to think you are.

I typically find myself in your shoes, so I understand your frustrations. Regardless of whether or not you are scum it can feel like an amazing amount of pressure. There are ways to handle and diffuse these situation that you have to learn for yourself. Your current method is not working as you intend it to so you need to rethink your approach. The game can be a lot of fun even when everyone is gunning for you once you get into a groove.

The thing is, I tried so hard to change my approach in my last message to prof.  I was trying to be as calm as possible, explaining my situation, and I personally felt very satisfied that my answer would be very effective in turning some people's opinions on me, as I'm only trying to do my job, which is to get the town as a team to win.  That post took me quite a while to write out to where I thought the wording seemed good and the tone was much more calmed down to where I would be able to get valid points across.  Almost immediately afterwards, even that post gets bashed for something, and it just really gets at me when I'm trying my hardest to stay calm, but it is so damned hard to do even that right now.

*venting*

That being said, I'm going to say what I said in my prof message again.  If the town really deems it necessary to lynch one of their own, then so be it, just please don't make my hard work go to waste, as some of my actions truly were at least an attempt to get potentially useful information for later in the game.

If you get lynched and then turn up innocent then we will all get sheepish, and mumble apologies over the fresh grave. Afterwards we will look at what you were saying and doing in a much different light. Alternatively we will see how you were setting us up and get a lot of good leads to work on if you end up scum. So either way the game moves forward a lot with your death.

I was rather angry when first responding, but I'm done with the anger now.

There is nothing else you could have done, nor were you doing anything wrong, as it is all of our jobs to find even the smallest of errors and capitalize, per se, on these errors, as it is really all that is available in day 1.  That being said, the point I was trying to get across was that I had made a mistake, and in trying to say that, I made yet another mistake.  I am starting to see how with the mistakes I am making, why some people are in fact very suspicious of me, and since I dug myself in a hole, I'm going to have to figure out myself how to get out, rather than just flaming at other people, as they aren't to blame for this whole situation going to hell.

Also it takes a lot more than one post. Give people time to absorb the new info and send a consistent message. bouncing around shows you are cracking under pressure which means there is a reason for you to crack. Those reasons are almost universally a sign of nasty secrets that we want to flush out into the open.
