The tech itself is a waste on the 360 at this life cycle tbh, this device could have done even more wonders if it had a little higher specs than the current version in the computing world while still maintaining cost. I'd love to have a version that has higher res and more IR points for computing.

The latest update for Kinect on 360 out this month increases the number of IR points for tracking and allows for finger precision in games. Example would be RTS's made fantastically easy on Kinect. The hardware itself is capable of alot more than the launch software allowed. Hence the rapid improvements to both IR points and response times. This gen cycle is far from over. And Kinects potential is not even close to being used yet. I'm guessing that is something else Rare were pointing to when they made there keynote speech on Kinect.
I think the games at the end of the year and 2012 for Kinect will be very special indeed.

You are talking about the stealth update that had already happened before christmas, there is no mention of any accuracy update for the upcoming patch, they are prolly just putting in dashboard kinect features. The device won't be able to go over 640x480 while tracking 3D motion atm, and that's due to the 360's 6 year old specs, it could have been better. This is MS acquiring a piece of tech. and making it lower spec for a 5-6 yr old console is all I'm saying, hence the tech won't reach it's actual potential, and it's a fucking shame.
