Same here with the ps2's. I also bought 2 ps1's.

normally I don't buy warrenties but I had one on my ps2 and was happy I did.

I shot through four playstation 2's luckily three were under that warrenty. The weird thing is I played my gamecube more.

Only real game system horror story I have. Now laptops is a diffrent matter.

Gameboy x3 (broke the screen twice)
Nes x2 (first one broke after 8 years, second was second hand lols)

PS2 x3 (original model failed on me, slim line model failed on me, 3rd ones still ticking *touch wood*)
