Forums - Gaming - Have you ever bought a system more than once?

Yes, I bought a second Gamecube on returning to the UK from US to amke it easier to buy games. I should have stuck with the US one though, because NA gets games earlier and much cheaper than PAL.

Ubuntu. Linux for human beings.

If you are interested in trying Ubuntu or Linux in general, PM me and I will answer your questions and help you install it if you wish.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!

I thought before reading all the posts "oh boy, this is gonna be filled with 'many PS2s'"... but what I found out? Many Nintendo 64s! How the heck can you kill a Nintendo 64? You people play videogames on the outside or what? >_>

Fortunately I have never killed one of my consoles. Many PC parts of course, but those don't count :)

What?! No Bally Astrocades or Vetrexes (Vetrexi?) or Jaguars or even a Lynx? And a Pippin is essential! And you call yourself a collector!?  Seriously, I should put to in touch with my brother, you guys could talk for hours, I'm sure, on system specs and stuff.  He's hopeing to open a museum with his collection.

I bought a DS then a DS lite but won't count that as buying a system twice as though they play the same games the redesign made buying a DS lite a necessity.

I did buy an Xbox twice though but not cause I am an Xbox fan at all. I hated Halo, loved Splinter Cell but after finishing in 3 times on the highest difficulty I had had enough of Xbox. But then Pro Evolution Soccer came out on Xbox and I had to get it so bought an Xbox again. The alternative was to get a PS2 but I hate Sony so that wasn't going to happen. And before people say I deprived myself of many great games by refusing to buy a PS2 I can't think of any games I missed out on. Don't like RPGs and got GTA on Xbox and didn't like it.

My God your N64 broke? I'm amazed.

Only console I have bought 2 of [in a way] is N64;
My original I bought new in 1998... In 2001 I sold it to a friend of my sisters for £30 with "Army men Sarges Heroes" which for some reason she liked [it's a terrible game].
Two weeks later I bought my sisters from her for £10, and the games she had were MK64 and Snowboard kids (and a Rugrats game)

So basically I was paid £20 to give away a crap game and gain 2 great games (+ a crap game).

I believe the N64 I have now, which was my sisters, is actually older than my original, because it was second hand when she bought it. However it still works perfectly.

For myself, no, never. Got a PS2 late in the generation and it managed to live (in poor health) until I got a Wii. Got 2 DS, one for each child. Might end up getting one for myself sometime, or getting a Wii of my very own when my son goes to University.

2 PSone's: First one broke after about 3 or 4 years, the second one was the smaller version and still works today.

Never bought 2 other ones. My ps2 still works after 6 years unlike the people above me complaining about how unreliable they are.
