The only remote chance for Dragon Quest X to be a multi-platform game is a Wii - 3DS release. There is virtually no chance of a PS3 version, nowadays Dragon Quest belongs to Nintendo consoles.

Well, how many people guessed Final Fantasy XIII would be multiplat? To that day Final Fantasy main series belonged to Sony... 

You know that Final Fantasy XIII was released on Xbox 360 because most of its sales comes from the West in addition with the generous money hat from Microsoft. The 80% of Dragon Quest sales are from Japan and Wii doesn't have any problem at selling huge established franchises, even Donkey Kong Country: Returns has been a huge success.

There is no a realistic basis for a hypothetical PS3 version at this moment. 

Oh, is that what FFXIII being the worst selling title in the series in Japan since it originally went to PlayStation means?

Wii can do actual blockbusters, PS3 so far hasn't even proven it can.  Everything on it that should be a blockbuster (FFXIII, GT5, MGS4) has fallen short sales wise.  Where PS3 does well is middle tier or niche games.  Where Wii does well is, funny enough, the blockbusters (Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Super Mario, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Monster Hunter, Smash Bros, etc).  Dragon Quest on Wii will sell more than every PS3 RPG on this list combined.
