Forums - General - Variables, the online comic

Hey, some of you know I've been working on a comic for the past few months and I think there's finally enough material there to start promoting the site a little.

At first glance, it looks like a superhero comic though it's really not, it's more of a real world sci-fi take on what would happen if powered beings started popping up around the planet. You won't see anyone hopping rooftops in tights and a cape in this book (mostly). The first arc focuses on one boy from South Dakota and two detectives following a strange series of break-ins around the Atlanta, Georgia area.

It's updated once a week on Mondays with a preview page posted on Fridays. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Oh, here's a sample page:

Is that Capt. America's shield/symbol on the inside cover?

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

Nope, just a star image. Each issue will have a different marker on the inside cover to represent the issue.

I liked it. I'll check it out weekly to read the new ones ^^

Hmmm, no one else has anything to say about it? No comic readers around today?

^^The problem is that off topic is hard to get to.  I haven't checked off topic in ages and the only reason I'm even here now was because I was looking for the pro-wrestling thread.  I'm looking through and seeing tons of topics I would have gladly been a part of if I knew they existed.

I won't even post in any now because I know they'll be buried alive.

What I read was okay, however its not even a full comic yet so I can't tell if I like it yet or not. Maybe come back and post a full comic (20-30 pages) then I can see if I actually like the comic. One page a week is not enough to actually get me to read. But if your first 30 pages get alot of good talk here I'd suggest you try to get your work published by an actual comic book publisher. But then you'll need to create a shit load more then one page a week!

I have no interest in being published by anyone. This is a pet project that keeps me busy and off the streets, jacking old women for a few bucks to buy my next hit.

I may print copies once I'm further along, though. One page a week is pretty slow but it's also pretty standard in the webcomicking world. After all, it is a free product and I'm doing 100% of the work myself.
