Forums - Gaming - Crysis 2 on PS3 - Who's getting it?

Going to be playing KZ3 MP for  a while so no point buying another fps game...

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

i havent planned on buying crysis 2. guess it never really hit my radar. who knows may be fun.

I'm still thinkin about getting it. I don't have a 360 anymore so I will wait for some more information to come in before I form a definitvie opnion. I like good SP campaign and if it is around 13hrs long that might be enough to sway me.

I'm not getting it at all now. I'm just gonna replace it with Homefront or Dragon Age 2. I only needed the game to keep me occupied until Socom 4 releases which is awesome by the way. I'm also glad to see people going for the 360 version instead and others not interested in the game at all now. Nothing tells a developer that crappy ports ain't welcome more than people not buying the game at all.

Funny how you believe others who say crysis 2 is a crappy port but overlook the popular opinion that both homefront and dragon age 2 are mediocre games.... :/

To each his own.

Believe others???? Man I played both versions. Theres is no believing others I have seen it with my own eyes. Also I don't follow reviews or metacritic to tell me if a games good. I form my own opinion based on videos and demos of games that I buy. Reviews are unreliable in todays age. Both Homefront and Dragon age look interesting to me.

I'm sorry. I forgot how shitty ports have better lov, contrast, textures (textures are equal on both but the 360 has no textures on some far away surfaces) etc. The 360 does have better IQ though, and richer blacks, although they are crushed and look awful in motion while it does look great in screen shots. Unless you are comparing the ps3 version to the PC version which is unfair and it wasn't a port of the pc to begin with.

360 for me. I really wanted the PS3 version initially (Crytek made some pretty bold claims in the beginning), but as it stands, the safest bet is the 360 version. Truly a shame for Crytek,  a bit of their credibility is in jeopardy with many fans right now.

Want to know my true feelings: this series should have remained PC exclusive until the follow-up consoles launched. On the other hand, I also understand wanting to take the engine elsewhere for maximum profit. It just seems to have hurt some stuff in the process.

Not really since Crytek is creating a 360 exclusive game as we speak in Codename:Kingdoms.

What does that have to do with anything?

I was responding to your credibility comment. They probably have lost some credibility with some PC fans but I think they  have gained some 360 fans so it could be a wash. I think I jumbled my sentence. Sorry I was really hungry and also modeling Kratos on Maya at the same time (school project).

I'm not.

I played the MP Demo and nothing happen on screen... so boring.

Yeah multiplayer doesn't look so great and I've only played the 360 version, not the PS3 demo. From what I've heard its even worse. But from what single player I've seen Crysis 2 looks comparable with the best so I'm confused. How can the single player look so much better than the multi? I think I might pick it up for SP and then sell it so I don't lose much money.

The SP mostly that I have seen is from PC so its understandable..
I honestly doubt the SP is OMFG NR 1 on consoles. It might be good.. very good, but games that manage to pull of MP graphics like KZ3 and Uncharted 2, usually have a even better SP. Man I am so turned off by the multiplayer. Just.. wow. I didn't think it was THIS bad. A part of me was like: Yeah the X360 demo that I saw must be like uber old build and the TV wasnt even that good. But on my 40" LED full HD 3D tv, THIS SHIT IS.. OUTRAGEOUS!!

Not sure. I've played the demo on PS3 and 360 now and my feelings are:

1 - visuals seem better on 360.  PS3 wasn't as bad as I expected but didn't seem as good nonetheless

2 - control - rather bizarely - felt a bit better on PS3 (this may be down to me having more years on dualshocks vs 360 controllers though)

3 - neither version blew me away visually although neither looked that bad either

4 - it just felt a little "off" on both consoles vs playing Crysis on PC (again, this might be down to me playing Crysis on PC and having a strong memory of K&M play)

I'm going to wait until launch and try the PC demo (haven't done so yet) first before I decide.  The demo build clearly isn't the best looking thing on an HD console yet (on PS3 God of War, Uncharted 2 and Killzone 3 all look better than the demo) and while it looks a bit better on 360 I wouldn't say it's the best graphics on 360 either based on the demo.

Yup.  I'll wait and see the retail code first before I decide platform.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
