The only question then is Europe - will it do GT3 and GT4 numbers in the EU. i think it will do 5 mil, but the 6 mil of GT4 seems improbable. still i think it will do 9mil now, maybe 10mil. either way i'm still concerned for the series because it was not recieved as well as we would've expected - and there is now a lot of pressure on Polyphony to deliever with GT6 now imho.

I think the review thing might really have been more because Sony hyped the damn thing for years, leading to unbelievable expectations.  The fans have spoken and they seem to love it.  I think a lot of this "pressure" is fabricated by people online who take this crap very seriously.  The vast majority who bought this are happy as a clam with it, I'm sure.

The game scored 84 with not many mixed scores and no negatives at all. After 5-6 years of hype, thats pretty fucking good. I'd like to see Forza or NFS pull that off :p

There were the odd negative reviews, mostly from people who fell victim to the hype, couldn't temper their expectations, and nitpicked the hell out of the game.

And really, to be fair, GT5's been consistently updated, and now it's a better game than when it was released. More patches are still to come. The 84 score does not do the game justice, not when it first released, and especially not now.

Well, this game flopped. 

Seriously though, Sony must be pulling in some major cash from this game.  Prologue probably already paid for almost the entire budget on the game, while the actual game's sales are almost all profit.
