Forums - General - Good BluRay Players?

I just got myself a new LED TV (Samsung UE 46). So the Wii and DVD player will be happy.

Since I now have to show off to my friends, I need a good BluRay player.

Any recommendations?

Any good, compared to other BluRay player?

What is the premium I need to pay for the gaming stuff (ie what is the price for a comparable BluRay without gaming functionality)?

PS3- I think other BR players capable of playing 3D movies are similarly priced. And it's always a good excuse to get another console without fightning with female element in house ;)

I just got a 2D LED Samsung TV.

Guess how sexy that 3D argument is to me.

Eh? The 3D is in the content. Not the machine.

If you play 3D on 2D TV, you get 3/2D.

Does the PS3 do upscaling for DVD?

If so, how good?

It does upscale DVD with different options. Full, Normal and Double Scale.

I would recommend a PS3 for Blu-ray as the interface is a lot faster than other players.

I can get a BluRay for €120 on Amazon. The PS3 is €300.

Is the premium of €180 worth it? Are €120 players comparable to PS3 Bluray performance?
