They have a duty to their nation, first and foremost, as soldiers. If they were citizens, i might support their initiative to better their life

We are talking about soldiers, right?

Not that I know of the news report on TV said they were exchange students.

Yah maybe. I used those words because those are the words the news crew used. I'm not sure what other word could be used, diserted maybe? I dunno but the news used Awol and I thought that it was a good word to be used in the thread title!

I think it's plain old illegal immigration if you come in under a certain visa and choose to stay under different terms. Possibly Asylum Seeking, but they have to declare that, or human trafficking, but that's non-volitional.

The news reporters were erroneus.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Not sure.

I mean, on the one hand, America is great.

On the otherhand, it's not like Illegal Immigrants lead the best lives.

I'd say it depends how I did in school.  Successful, i'd go back to Afghanistan.  Should be able to get a good job, maybe even start a good company.

If i got bad grades though... one shitty life is  as good as another.

If I was born Afghani of course I would try to come to America.

From an American's point of view this is bad though. I wouldn't want people coming here and leeching off of our system.

I really wish instead of fleeing to North America that the Afghanis would have some kind of revolt and overthrow their shitty government, and start to rebuild their country properly. Their country will never be first world if they keep fleeing instead of trying to improve things.
