Forums - Gaming - Has anyone who was a fanboy grown out of it?

I probably still hold an implicit grudge agaisnt the wii and its games. And I'm also quite fond of the playstation 3 and its games.

I think to some extent my biases can be seen in the comments I generally make, just as they do for all us.

I was a huge Nintendo fanboy back in the days. Whatever Nintendo did, it was the right thing to do and I put my full support behind them, always. I remember hating PS2 before it was even released and I bashed the Xbox without mercy and for the most laughable reasons (like it's size ).

Then, half through the sixth gen I realised how incredible dumb, childish and pathetic me and other fanboys were. I'm into gaming for the games, not to be a blind, soulless slave that bends over for his/her master without thinking. Heck, I actually advised my brother to get a PS2 since I already had a Gamecube.

Nintendo still is my favourite game company but I'm no longer worshipping them like some crazy sect member.

I've never really hated a certain company. I've found that I have started to dislike a company because of their fanboys. I kinda started to dislike the PS3(note: I really do not like the PS3 controller), even though I owned one(which was a little wierd). I just bought a Wii again(I sold my original Wii to buy an Xbox), and I started to play my PS3 again, too. I started to think it through, and realized that I was missing some great games because I was being a fanboy of the 360. I thought that that was pretty stupid of me. I am now playing my Wii, and PS3 more than my 360(I found a great controller to use on my 360, which helped). I still love my 360 and will probably play it more than the other two, but I am not going to miss out on great games because of being a fanboy. I still want the 360 to be the most successful of the 3, but not as much now. Whatever happens, happens. All three of this generations consoles are successful, and I hope they continue that trend so that they can deliver great games to all of us game lovers.

Nope, I still hate nintendo.

Never.

When I was sick in hospital who visited me?  My family, but I'm sure SEGA had something to do with it.

I wonder when there going to write back to me also...

Yes, but not in gaming.

When I was younger I went through a big fanboy craze in Comics.

I first loved DC (Batman/Superman, etc) and hated the very idea of Marvel.

I then did a complete 180 when the terrible Batman/Superman movies began to come out.

I no longer collect comic books/cards but I have gone past hating comics bcause of who made them.
