I've never been a fanboy of any console at all. A bit perhaps of certain franchises (Halo, Final Fantasy, etc.) but thats not really a big deal because everyone has favorite gaming series.
I just never really cared about hateing on a system just because its "teh competiter" or whatever. Good games are good games regardless of who makes them and whatever system they are on. One thing that has always drove me more insane than anything is when people bash stuff on a different console for no other reason then because its not the one they own. Its beyond annoying.

^ Though I have things I dislike about certain consoles.I have owned all but a few of the bigger ones.
It is good to be a fanboy. It shows that you have a backbone and not a fence-sitter and you are passionate and really love the team you are supporting.
It's just like soccer. Some people love Chelsea, hate Manchester United, or Love Man U and hate Chelsea, Arsenal etc. It doesn't mean that person is childish. Things like Love or fanboyism isn't rational. It doesn't have to be rational.
People who love Chelsea may call Man U Manure or Man U fans may call Chelsea Chelshit but at the end of the day it is really just harmless trash talking.
I am a big Sony fanboy but I'm sure if I hang out with Xbox fanboys like Kowenicki or Seece or Squilliam, we'd be really awesome buddies. I'd point out all the hot guys for Seece so he can lay them.

Squilliam isn't an Xbox fanboy. He plays PS3 more than Xbox 360. He's just more critical of Sony's business moves than Microsoft's.
