SSFIV and MvC3 are both good/fun games if you're the type that's really into fighters and likes learning new combos/mechanics/etcetc.
Learning stuff like that is really the "hook" for those games because the singleplayer for both is kinda crap. Basic arcade vs. cpu, that's really it.
SSFIV is much more competitive compared to MvC3 - you can get away with so much cheap shit in MvC3. I went 32 - 4 today/last night doing the same spam tactic over and over and collected some fun hatemail =p Unfortunetly, I don't really know anyone that plays SSFIV anymore since MvC3 is much more casual friendly.I know a few CoD peeps that bought MvC3.
Besides Capcom's games, Soul Calibur 4 is pretty much a failure compared to 2. The gameplay hasn't really changed at all but the singleplayer got dumbed down horribly. Much less stuff to do. The best side feature in the game is the character customizer, but I'll admit: it's reaaaally awesome and addicting sometimes! =o
If you're gonna get any other fighters, go with SSFIV/MvC3!
