But dude just a warning, you've been spoiled by the shooters on 360 like Halo.  Both Resistance games are litteraly awful.  Story line is pretty interesting and I'm really excited for the 3rd game but both the gameplay and graphics for Resistance are horrible, I would recommend saving your money and getting something else besides those two.

No dude, at least IMO they are the worse "big name" exclusive games on the PS3.  Killzone 2 and 3 both destroy Resistance and other games like Halo and stuff are in a whole other league.  The gameplay literally feels last gen to me.  Resistance 3 looks really good though.

To be honest, Halo built its reputation through "hype" and popularity...and that does not mean that Halo series are better than Resistance 1 & 2. If you want the full PS3 experience..then you must get Resistance 1 & 2, they are both great games and nowhere else can you play a match w/ 60 other players on Multi. Also, the gameplay is pretty much like any other FPS but w/ a twist(try it) and I have to disagree w/ BenVTrigger when it comes to graphics, Resistance looks much better than Halo by any means. Get it, you won't be dissapointed.

1.  Halo built its reputation on hype?  Really?  Thats why it has a higher metacritic than both Resistance games, has more active unique players per day than Killzone or Resistance has per month and outsells the Resistance franchise by a massive margin?  Killzone smashes Resistance anyways so this isn't a beef with playstation games, just with Resistance.

2.  You need Resistance 1 & 2 for the full PS3 experience?  No way, theres much better games on the PS3 than Resistance and both Sales and Reviews back me up.

3.  The multiplayer is an absolute mess so it doesn't matter if theres 60 players or 100 the gameplay and overall set up is still extremely lackluster.  Though the co-op on Resistance 2 is pretty sweet.

4.  And sorry but Resistance does not look as good as Halo Reach, or Killzone or several other shooters.

Regarding point number 1, you are using metacritic review scores to back up your argument that Halo is better than Resistance yet at the same time say that Resistance's gameplay is 'awful.' Surely if this were the case then the metacritic scores that you are touting would be far lower? Both Resistance games have extremely respectable scores on the site.

With your criticism of the multiplayer, I would have to disagree. The multiplayer on both games couldn't possibly be a mess otherwise the online communities would have disappeared long ago. Fall of Man's custom game community is still very much there, as too is Resistance 2's.

I'm using Metacritic score as one pillar of my various points that Halo is a better game than Resistance.  Everything points towards Halo being the better game other than a few people here on VgChartz.  Resistance 1 and 2 still has some life in it, but not really.  For a FPS it actually has an extremely low population.  Killzone is a better franchise in every way so I'm just recommending he should pick up some other PS3 games over Resistance.

And I have no beef with some people enjoying the games, I just know what kinda stuff YoJohn plays because he's on my friends list on 360 and I'm just warning him that Resistance isn't up to par to many shooters IMO.  It just has really stale gameplay and to me felt kinda generic.  Like I said the story is pretty intersting and i'm looking foreward to the 3rd one but I felt the first 2 games pretty much overall weren't that good.  Maybe a 7 / 10.
