Hmm didn't know that, but who really cares anyway. I don't see a problem with it.

 If anything that would make it worse as he could utilize a site which is suppose to be non-bias to help support and promote the company his wife works for. Personally I don't see it as a big deal and haven't really noticed a change in consistancy of IGN Nintendo over the years aside from different styles of writers being introduced...but still it is a conflict of interest.

If he is the editor of the Nintendo portion of the site and not the site itself where is the conflict? He edits the part that is about Nintendo, I would hope that he would be supportive of Nintendo. Basically, that is like saying it is a conflict of interest for the Editor-in-Chief of PSM to be the cousin of the Sony PR firm's president.

The problem here is that we're trying to apply the standards of journalistic integrity to a videogame site.

I know I'll take heat for this, but Videogames are hardly on the same level of actual news.

Really I think we are applying higher standards as there are several journalists who are married to people that are in the fields the journalist covers.

I think he's proven himself pretty fair on the review front. In fact, he's the first one to rant about things he doesn't like about the Wii(check his articles on Voice Chat and Storage), which doesn't exactly sound like some PR Puppet Reviewer.
