Forums - General - Should I Dedicate My Life To Motorsport?

I have been pondering this for a while now and I've come to a near decision that I want to get involved with Motorsport. I have become adjusted to my local track and am raring to delve into the wonders of new tracks. Is it worth the risk?

Around the Network

Uh, there are about a million considerations for whether to pursue it as a career or just a hobby:

1. Are you any good at it?
2. What kind of racing is it?
3. What is your end goal? MotoGP, NASCAR, F-1, etc?
4. How expensive is it to move up classes and buy/maintain equipment?
5. Does your machinery enable you to advance and actually make a living? There's a big difference whether you're SX, carting, or some obscure form of racing (say ice racing) that doesn't have a significant market.

1) I have practised for half a year and have become competitive.

2) Go-Karting.

3) F1.

4) I am not sure, so far I have used previously tuned Karts to race.

5) I think Go-Karting up until F1 is the broadest market in Motorsport so I should benefit.

Well I gotta say is it your dream? If it is then shoot for it. Many of us have dreams and we can't achieve them or end up giving in and following different paths. But the few of us who manage to live our dreams are inspirations to the world.

I myself have not achieved my dreams but I won't give up. Eventually I will get a job in the games industry. You wanna become a racer in motorsport then shoot for it. Never give up on your dreams!
