If 3DS becomes a hot sell like the Wii did, you could sell your initial 3DS and then use that fund to buy both 3DS and PS3. Assuming you could get one though :)

My advice would be, if there are 5 to 10 games on PS3 that you really want to play, but can't get on 360 or PC, then get a PS3. If that's not the case, consider a 3DS.
