Forums - Gaming - i have a question thats 3ds and PSP2 Related ?!

ok level with me here!

you know how phone companies have phones that can send wifi signals to your labtop (i really dont know the name of the service or the feature itself)

ok my question is can you  use that feature to connect your 3ds/psp2 to it and basically play anywhere like 3g/4g? just wondering because that would be cool.

3DS - No
NGP - There's two models planned. A regular Wifi only sku, and a 3G sku that will likely cost a bit more up front but has the feature you're discribing. You should also expect a monthly/yearly charge for the feature.

I think the 3ds can do what he asks. If I am reading right he is asking if he has a 3g/4g hub (a phone that has 3g/4g and can let other devices connect through wifi). Than all he should need from the 3DS is wifi which it has. But the 3ds does not have 3g/4g connectivity that I know of.

I think he is asking about tethering through Wi-fi.

But i have no idea if they can do but unless your phone can operate as Wi-fi router then I think both won't work.

this is what im saying! if this could work there will be no need for 3g on psp2 or the 3ds to play anywhere. you also woulden't have to pay sony or nintendo and could just have it under your same cell plan. we really need to find out about this.

bump

I would guess( this comes from someone that doesn't really know much about this service) that as long there isn't anyhting special about the wifi signal, like some kind of special encryption, then it should work. As long as either of the devices can pick up the signal then it shouldn't matter where it is coming from.

And i am bumping this threat as it would be great to find out :P

I am a nintendo fan, not a nintendo fanboy

It would be lot more likely to find someone who nows after 3ds is released in west.

i have heard of this. Its not the phone company its the phone its self

now for people who may be confused, its when you can turn your ipod into an wifi and have other wifi compatiable devices connect to the internet though your phone.

i have seen this first hand work for the iphone 4.

and i am sure it will probably work for the 3DS and PSP2

no the NGP will have an more expensive out right cost of around 400-600 dollars.

then the 3G plan as this will be like tablets, will be like for example 49 24 month plan 0 dollars upfront for phone, or 29 dollar plan 10 dollars per month for phone.
