To the question: Yes if you enjoy them.

On the OP, I think you are doing the same thing that bothers you, I think its not a Old games vs New games, its a taste thing, I cant generalize about games, there are games this gen that have way more content than old games for example.

In the end just play what you like, it doesnt matter if its old or new games.

I'd say to question, have a bloody blast with the relics (the good ones),

But the way you explained it was not exactly the best choice. Their are games that came out this gen can still be considerd timeless and classics that comes out with more contents on a fresh coat of paint...
