Curious what is going on here. Killzone 2 nearly locked down and dominated discussion on this website's discussion forums a few years back.  Now, it is like Killzone 3 is just another FPS release coming out, important mainly due to it being a PS3 exclusive.  It seems far more subdued, and not a major place to argue.  Not a lot of post after post regarding it.  Any idea why?

Killzone 2 was a Halo killer.

Call of Duty killers are getting old.

Simple internet logic.

We left the hyping business, and the people who usually do these threads are no longer here.

alot of things arent as big on here as they were before i dont think its just KZ3

other reasons could be KZ2s lack of popularty after release i mean it wasnt a sales monster not even close and KZ3s meta

Review scores don't matter. They are over run by money hungry fanboys. Play the game, decide for yourself. That will determine if it is AAA.

Hmm this websites member are critical and punishing of everyone elses views,the people who use to hype and be true to their fanboyism left rather than compromised their ways to deal with this website's restrictions and codes of conduct.I miss flame wars on dedicated gaming sites which I give a shit about...now all that's left is the idiocy of youtube,there's a lot of hyping going on over there.

Killzone 3 has been mutilated and twisted to be made like CoD and Halo.I loathe CoD for it's all consuming nature in terms of casual gamers only knowing about CoD and the annual releases of sports games,and I despise Halo for the console it represents.But they get sales,so Guerilla Games has tried their way...their gonna get sales I imagine,Black Ops was fairly shite,so there'll be a few copies going in toward Killzone 3.

I just played Killzone 2 online all last week,there's a unique beauty in the awkward controls and the way the game's menus work.There's something about Killzone as a series which for me has always taken what shooters do and then proceeded to up the ante,seen most of all in Killzone 2.I'll play Killzone 3 for the story and the occasional online game,but the best FPS was,is and always wil be Killzone 2 in my eyes.

Killzone 2 had something to prove after the first one

When Killzone 2 was first revealed, there wasn't as many first person shooters, it seems "nothing was like it" at the time, and we were still just coming off from last generation.  Now, shooter are plentiful, and we are far enough into this generation where games in Killzone 3's genre doesn't have that "new" impact as they were before.

Killzone 2 was " the savior "  of the ps3 for it was doomed , now ps3 doesn't need saving , that's how I remember it , AHH ... Good old days .
