*MAKE SURE YOU DELETE EVERYTHING THATS ISNT SAVE FILES, I MEAN EVERYTHING. WILL TAKE TO LONG OTHERWISE.

both ps3`s need to be connected to tv to do it, goto transfer to ps3 setting and set one as "sender" then other as "reciver" after a few goes you will get hang of it.

what the heck is ethernet?

This will be tougher than we thought.

Ethernet is simply a fancy term for the network cable. The same one that runs from your modem to your router to your computer to your Ps3 [if it's wired, which it is highly recommended to be]

Well, its not. My PS3 has wireless connection. But my PC is wired with a gray cable to my modem, maybe that will work?

Yes, if it looks like that, it will work. Now all you have to do is read some of these other guys' guides, or look online for a guide [youtube, google, etc...]

I've never done anything like this [planning to, but haven't yet], so I'm in no position to help you. Sorry bud =

why would you highly recommend it?  The wireless on the PS3 works flawlessly

It works flawlessly, yes, but if you're looking to get every drop of internet connectivity available, then wired is the way to go; this is the case for practically everything WiFi related. Unfortunately it's hindered by the fact that there needs to be a physical connection between the router and the device, but if you are able to do it, then you will get much faster connection speeds.

So you think when I'm downloading stuff I should connect it with our ethernet cord?

Yes, it speeds up the download, but by what degree I don't really know... It depends on how far your Ps3 was from your router when it was wireless.

Remember that when you wire it up with the ethernet cord, you have to reset the Network Settings under Settings in the XMB. Like, right now it's set to wireless, you have to re-set it up to configure for Wired. Unfortunately, before you ask, it can't use both connections at the same time for super speed, but it would have been awesome if it could have.

well, wireless can be pretty error prone actually.

If you live in an area with a billion access points around you, or you are far away, you might experience some slow connection speeds.

But if you compare it with other wireless, yeah its the same.

Yes, remember Sony's inbuilt is only G, and by the way it acts it seems an early revision, constantly online if people have bad connections they are generally running on wireless.

What I have in fact resorted to at work is selling people range extenders or access points if they want wireless because you would want a wired then a wireless in terms of ps3.

Well, my PS3 has a router through the wall not 10 feet away, so I'm pretty sure I'm fine.
