Forums - Gaming - Supply aside, what is the weekly peak of Wii and DS??

In the months to Christmas, the DS has been selling 1.2 million a week PLUS! Before this, we were all dazzled at how it managed 500,000 a month! It appears back then, DS truly was limited by supply.

The fact that we're currently seeing such similar weekly numbers (1.2 mil) suggests supply is STILL limiting DS's sales (if sales went up and down on a weekly basis, this would not be the case). Same applies for Wii.

So what, realistically, do you think is the maximum potential cap for DS and Wii sales in a week worldwide?

Easily over 2 million each WW for maximum (holidays, etc. at their current prices), on average I would say DS around 700K and Wii around 500K WW each week

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
