If this had come out five, six months ago I would've definitely bought this phone. If it actually was Verizon-exclusive I would changed carrier from AT&T to Verizon since I'm so tired of AT&T's bs.

Also, cell phone manufacturers should actually let the public know more about dual carrier cell phones like they do in many other countries.

No, all US carriers have phones specific to them only. Currently there are ways to unlock certain phones to go to other specific carriers, but its rare and only among carriers that use the same tech.
