Forums - Gaming - Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita and Wii U software lineups

Still not impressed by either lineup.

At this point the future lineups for the old systems are still waaay more interesting to me (e.g. Dragon Quest VI, Okamiden, Radiant Historia, Ninokuni, Valkyria Chronicles 3, Tactics Ogre, Patapon 3).

DS and PSP both still have a great 1st half lineup, and few things for later in the year... but I can't really see much notable for 2012 and beyond.  I also suspect a lot of Japanese PSP titles are going to miss localization due to the American/European software markets being pretty much dead, 8-4's comments on MHP3 leaving Japan were pretty discouraging.

...Nintendo have definitely stepped it up with 3rd party support on the 3DS. :D ...

3rd party support on the DS was and still is excellent.

But so are you, aren't you?

And DS had great 3rd party support, I see it as just translating over. Obviously yeah this time its right from the start which is better though.

I think off the bat 3DS is getting the sorts of games DS never did; mainline Kingdom Hearts, a MGS game, Street Fighter, etc.  In fact, these were the sorts of games that used to automatically go to PSP.

Though this is mainly in terms of Japan.  Western 3DS support is still pretty terrible and actually disconcertingly Wii-like imo.

Ive never seen a console have so many games before release like the 3ds

Level 5's games alone makes me want a 3DS.

Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright will be the best game EVAH!!!

Etrian Odyssey is by far my most anticipated 3DS game. Atlus FTW!

HAHA :D Nicely done. That OP makes quite an impression.

But then again, the NGP doesn't even have a real name or launch date yet, so the PS3 lover in me wants to kindly tell you to stick your 'list' up your...

I'm sure that we'll see more western support at e3.

Honestly, I like the fact that Ubisoft are behind the 3DS but I'm just hoping their 3DS games will be better than the DS iterations of certain franchises (specifically Assassin's Creed and Rayman).

Ubi's 3DS commitment actually reminds me a lot of their Wii launch.  One or two novel efforts really made with the platform in mind (ie: Red Steel, Raving Rabbids, Shadow Wars, Hollywood Crimes) and then a mountain of ports.

At least Ubi's picking up some Japanese games for western release.  They already nabbed Animal Resort and Cubic Ninja, both of which look more interesting than 99% of Ubi's own stuff imo.

Good list so far.

I'm currently interested in 10 3DS games and 7 NGP games, so both handhelds are definite purchases for me.
