Is your idea of having a conversation to bludgeon people with insults, so either they stop communicating with you or end up firing barbs back?  Remind me here exactly WHAT is obtained by saying to someone "every view point you have is border line retarded"?

I guess I kind of brought that on myself with my "stupid as fuck" comment. Maybe that was over the line (at least zexen says it was!) but I honestly don't know how else to characterize it when someone's idea of critiquing conservatism is to alternate between calling conservatives Nazis and terrorists.

Hard to have a beneficial discussion or debate when those you (you is a general you, not specifically pointing at yourself here) disagree with are seen not only as wrong, but evil.  This seems to become increasingly the norm.  I am not going to go into who started it, because it doesn't matter.

Y'know Drudgereport is a news aggregate and he rarely writes any news himself right? Just posts links to it.

Drudge selectively picks his sources to give the news the spin that he prefers.  You will see him do neocon stuff.  He also runs articles in support of gay rights to.  When the pool of sources is large enough, you don't need to write anything to make whatever point you want to make.

I know. Just from how I read the OP I thought you thought he wrote them himself

I'm just wondering... did anyone read the article I posted?

Seriously, do neocons actually believe in freedom and democracy or don't they?

When it's convenient.

This. And it's not just neocons, it's successive administrations for the last 50-60 years.

And I am now reminded of the short, "Pirates and Emperors" based on work by St. Augustine:

Nicarugua actually took the US to court over state terrorism charges and won, but what can a little country do against a mighty empire so after a decade of trying to enforce the rulings of the court to no avail, it dropped the charges.
