Forums - Microsoft - Ubisoft eyes up Kinect IP conversions

The likes of Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Ghost Recon and Rayman could hit motion controller

Publisher Ubisoft has said that it is considering Kinect adaptations for all of the brands in its popular stable of IP.

The company has already enjoyed big success with Microsoft's Xbox 360 motion camera, claiming third party market leadership on both sides of the Atlantic thanks to launch titles such as Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, Fighter's Uncaged and Motion Sports.

And while these three new IPs have enjoyed varying success, the publisher has plans to bring some of its more established brands to the platform.

“We will be bringing some of the industry’s most innovative offerings to Kinect soon,” says chief marketing and sales officer Geoffroy Sardin told MCV.

“I think we can propose Kinect versions of all the brands that we’ve got, but it is down to the production team. I can’t announce anything, but we will have something for everyone, that I can assure you.”

Two further Kinect games have already been announced by the firm – Michael Jackson: The Experience and spiritual Rez successor Child of Eden.

Sounds promising, Splinter Cell would be my best bet, a hybrid game. Some good Kinect stealth mechanics could come from that.

Mmm I sense Assassins Creed fitness trainer on the horizon.

One of my favorite aspects of Chaos Theory was using the headset to get someone's attention.  Especially during coop, we'd have to keep our voices down so they didn't  hear us talking to one another.  But if my partner had someone heading his way I would holler out so they'd turn around and come my way.  That was sooooooooo immersive.

I guess Ubisoft is on board body and soul. Maybe its Microsofts boasting of massive Kinect sales which really swayed them!

Never knew Chaso Theory had that, that DOES sound impressive!!

I don't buy it, sorry Kinect sales are dropping fast and if they are just talking now and all they have coming is rail shooters and dance games I just don't see kinect lasting long enough to make a port of a full fledge game, hell I can't even think of a way to control any of those games decently without a controller

I like the sound of this!

That's so odd, usually sales tend to skyrocket after the holidays!  I guess Microsoft is doomed!
