we already had many reports and interviews saying how NGP is easy to develop for and how devs can use many sources they used before on it with ease. This will cut cost, time and will come off as a very attractive option for devs. But hey we shall see when games start to get announced more right?

We already saw around what 10 games? NGP is getting a new Uncharted game, KZ, Resistance etc etc...but wait a sec! they had other games too!????? 0_0 no wayyyyyyyyyyyy ...

and from the sound of it, poor mans console is a poor choice of words from you, NGP will not be the cheapest device on the market who touts tech enhancements and who has console games/IP/and lol ports....I'll leave it to you to figure out which handheld will fit that bill by 'your' definition.

I didn't say that the NGP was only designed to appeal to graphics whores, but that would be the group that would be most interested in the NGP over the 3DS at this point in time. Beyond that, Mark Reign has a rampant history of very anti-Nintendo statements ...

In 2006 when the Wii was still the revolution and the Wiimote had just been displayed, Mark Reign was giving a presentation to developers and justified ignoring the Wii because no hardcore gamers bought Gamecubes, and to demonstrate his point he asked everyone in the audience who owned a Gamecube to raise their hand; when the majority of the audience raised their hand he asked everyone who owned a PC, PS2 or XBox and played games on it to lower their hands. When it was only 10% of the audience who still had their hands up he said his point was made.

Unfortunately, Mark Reign is either too foolish or dishonest to realize that had he done a similar survey with any platform only a very small minority of core gamers/game developers don't own multiple platforms to play games on.

I'm honestly not suprised Mark and Epic like to always be on the cutting edge. As Happy Squirel said Epic is a graphic whore company. They make their money from developing the best possible graphics engine for the most powerful systems.

If Epic wasn't interested I would be very shocked. Also Gears coming to NGP or PS3,not likely I'm pretty sure Microsoft has the rights to the Gears franchise or at least a contract for so and so many games. So I don't expect Gears headed to NGP anytime soon if at all.

The Unreal 3 engine running on NGP will be a huge bonus for Sony and many developers will likely use it. Also dev costs will be a bitch if the title is not multiplatform, even though M.U.G.E.N's would like to think otherwise. It'll carry the same budget as a PS3 title which has gone down over the years but is still pretty damn high.

Which is why I think more studios and publishers will put their PS3 titles on NGP as well. Rather then building all that much software from the ground up for NGP. Think with this announcement how easy it will be for a publisher to take an Unreal 3 game from the PS3 and port it over to NGP. Even Epic's example is a port.

No, that's not possible. MS more than likely owns some of the IP/copyright/trademark.

The big thing every one seems to be skipping over is that the NGP doesn't have to have AAA console experiences. It's getting heaps of online support which will allow developers to develop plenty of downloadable games for the system, which also means that they won't have to spend so much on development. Games like Joe Danger, Limbo, Pixel Junk Shooter, Noby Noby Boy, Flower, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Tools of Destruction and Shadow Complex are perfect examples of games that look fantastic, but they all profit in like their first week due to low development costs.

Sony seems to be gearing towards a more online method of game distribution with Playstation Suite and I'm guessing that more and more games like Dungeon Defenders, Little Deviants, Flower and Infinity Blade will start popping up on the network, along with all the current PSN games, Minis, PS1 games and maybe PS2 games will start being introduced.

We've also had countless reports saying that development on the NGP is cheap and extremely easy, which might mean ports, but it could also mean that smaller developers will be able to create cheap games on free engines like the Phyre Engine for a low price, which could also lead to a plethora of Japanese releases, similar to what happened on the PS3 and PSP as of recently.

Unlike other platforms, Sony now doesn't have to live or die by it's retail releases, as that's now only an option and not a  necessity to succeed on the platform. I don't know if it will succeed, but they are going out of their way to branch out to far more gaming sectors and they also seem to be making a quality product.

IF you think NGP is aimed at 'graphic whores' or w/e and ONLY they would chose the device over NGP,then you ar either mistaken or just plain ignorant of the other features the fans are excited about.

Graphics were ALWAYS gonna be way better than the compeition, every psp fan and even any sensible person would have seen it coming. If you actually look around, fans are happy mostly about things like the dual analog, trakcpad, ps3 psp2 connectivity tc. The power is just the icing on the cake.

But hey please feel free to insult, generalize, troll and derail! if this isn't insecurity I don't know what is :P
