agreed I though it was an excellent article.  Mad credit to Stephen Totilo over at Kotaku because this is Journalism at some of its best.

How Sony Can Make Their Next Gen Portable A Must Buy?

It's simple: New IPs that can sell more the than 20 million with one single game. I mean Uncharted, God of War, Heavy Rain, Metal Gear and even Gran Turismo (combined!?) aren't capable to move as much hardware as a simple 2D Mario (you just have to look at the PSP and DS software sales to see it). So instead of PS3-like games the NGP will need some DS/Wii-like games in order to become a must buy to a wide audience.

Did you even read the article?

The NGP is tapping into a market far larger than even a Nintendo game can dream.  Iphone type games, and this may be one of the single biggest reasons that Nintendo should be very worried about the NGP in my opinion.

Blank post is blank ----------------carry on

That was one well written article.  Good read.

The one thing that could make or break this (regardless of price) is how they do the gaming part (as stated in the article)

I am betting on our old staple of games ($40-$50) with iPod games ($0.99-$10) with the possibility of download only titles in between.  If the system can offer this type of range, and I believe it will, it will do very well.

With Capcom showing how easy (and how short) it was to take LP2 and put it on the NGP, I think its very possible we will see addons to PS3 games (maybe 10-15 bucks) that you can buy if you own the PS3 version.  This would allow you to take your PS3 game on the Go (transferring saved game info and trophy info) on your NGP.  That could be another big selling point.

Thats a fair article I'd say.

DSiWare has many iPhone type games dude. And thats DSi download service. I understand some people are really excited for a touch screen on NGP, its a novelty for them if you they had just a PSP, but don't you forget that DS had one back in 2004, and so 3DS will have a touch screen. Any "iphone type" game is possible on the DS and 3DS. And of course the NGP.

The only market Sony is catering that Nintendo won't be able to compete is the high end gamer, graphics whore, but that strategy wasn't much usefull for the PSP as it got smashed by DS.

Gonna have to disagree with you on this one to be honest, I don't think the 3DS will be near as dominant over the NGP as what we saw this last gen.  In fact I won't be surpirsed at all if NGP defeats Nintendo in Japan.  World Wide I expect Nintendo will still win out but its going to be much closer this time especially if NGP is $299 or less.
