Didn't like the demo at all. I usually prefer tense and deep story driven games, this doesn't provide one ounce of that for me. Feels to me as something created for "cool" teen males, thus it will probably sell better on the 360 than on the PS3.

The game tries to be funny a la Duke Nukem, but falls so much short in this regard for me as well. IMO Duke Nukem had some kind of charismatic DNA and bad-ass atmosphere this game lacks completely in its characters and general approach. But to a lesser degree IMO Gears of War also lacks in this regard and that's considered to be a top game by the industry. Gears of War does feel much more immersive to me than this (but still overhyped with its short juvenile campaign and pretty limited online capabilities people, together with their online gaming friends, need to pay extra for to get more out of it).

Technically the game engine seems to be running OK (unlike for example Mass Effect 1), just doesn't appeal to me at all.

Wait, so you are saying that teen mails who own the PS3 are "uncool"?  You really shouldn't insult a whole fan base like that you know...

Also, since I'm NOT a teen (sadly not even close) and enjoyed both this demo AND gears of war, am I stuck in my teen years??

You got all this analysis from an 8 minute demo of the echoes mode of this game?  AMAZING!

Thanks! 8-)

The 360 seems to have a greater share amongst this demographic. And I meant "cool" in the Beavis & Butthead kind of way.

> am I stuck in my teen years??

Probably.

And don't get me wrong when I say I think Gears of War was overhyped. I actually enjoyed that game, I just didn't like the characters, acting performances, story telling and I thought the single player campaign was way too short. With overhype I refer to near perfect scores out there, IMO there were way too many flaws for that (IMO same goes for Halo 3, too short and graphically unimpressive for near perfect scores, again that's not to say Halo 3 was a bad game).

Having a differing opinion on games is no cause for animosity!  The anonymity of the internet too often gives free reign to individuals (not claiming this about you) to spout stupidity and angst at any differing opinion because there is no respect for ramification.

That being said, your opinions on Gears and Halo 3 are yours, and while I respect that, I do not share them. In fact, I honestly think your original post on Bulletstomr was overly dismissive, unnecessarily pointed to insult the 360 userbase and furthermore used as a medium to insult well reviewed and generally well liked 360 exclusives.  But that is just MY opinion.

In general this fits the MO of the type of posts I generally see you make, and so while I hold no anger at you for that, I don't mind pointing it out on occassion.

In closing, with no mal-intent, I believe that if you are not a paid viral marketer for Sony, you should be.  I hope you take that as a compliment to your skill with posts, rather than an insult; while I may not agree with what you generally say, you have an aptitude for saying it convincingly.

Double Posts - damn!!  :)

Too cheesy for me.  Turned my PS3 off after 5 minutes of playing this. No thanks.

Instead I'll be getting KZ3 on the 22nd of next month.

how did everyone do. I did 41000 :(

41 THOUSAND?

YOU are a GOD among men I think!  :)

I played twice and got 5300 and 5400 respectively.  I thought I saw leaderboard scores worldwide over 10K, but I'd have to spend significantly more time to try to figure out how to do that.  I'm hoping to have more time to try for higher scores tonight!

maybe 4100, cant remember how the scale was hahahahahahah

Oh I was just giving you a hard time, no offense meant.

I played yesterday and hit 5900, I'm at the top of my friends leaderboard (though only 4 or 5 have played it) but sadly I couldn't replicate what I did to get that score.  Next few times I played I was below 5K!
