This is the first proper 'leak' there ever was..previous ones were of dev kits and such...or how a 'reliable' source said at one point how Tegra was causing issues, how at one point how the slider was causing issues, at one point there were the snapdragon processor, android based, non android base, all digital, mini blu ray etc etc

so what I'm saying is no one has a clear cut idea or anything close to it as to what the psp2 is like. And I'll also give an example of what's exactly the opposite of this situation, Xperia Play/zeus or w/e it will be named. We have good idea of the specs, design, videos of it etc etc....now THAT is a leak! again some rumors might prove to be true (at this point there is a rumor about pretty much all possibilities so it's bound to happen). THis news gets more cred cuz of the source but yea. Anywho it's a week away from now so as I said earlier we might hear more in a day or two ;)

Very true.  This is supposed to be announced in a few days and we still haven't got a vid or pic of the thing, only a very low quality pic of what is supposedly the dev kit.  And this statement about how the screen will be a touchscreen means that the previous rumors of there being a touchpad on the back are probably wrong.  I mean there would really be no purpose for it.

Wrong, wrong, they need stuff to make their product unique and the back trackpad is definitely one. So something like:

- OLED touchscreen

- Back trackpad

- Dual analogs

- Mic

- Motion sensitive

Equals ownage as far as controlling methods go.

Agreed, I think having both will lead to some interesting control schemes, which will also help it differentiate from other handhelds AND consoles

Indeed. Sony did pretty much what they could do to differenciate from the 3DS. People are complaining about a possible price, but it never hindered Apple or the high-tech likes.

If Sony was to release a handheld priced the same as the 3DS with a simple touchscreen and slightly more powerful  they'd be screwed for sure. Nintendo themselves learned it with the Gamecube.

Hmm maybe if it supports 3G we could see it selling for less at start with monthly data plans like cellphones. That would do a lot to reduce entry price.

Not sure what it's like elsewhere, but in the US this is only done with phones/plans.  The iPad for example carries no subsidy for it's 3G model (in fact, the 3G model is $100 more).

No touchscreen, that was a mistranslation of the Nikkei article on andriasang's part.  I suspect this means we'll see the PSP2-2000 in two years with a 3D retina display.

We're also waiting to find out exactly what motion control it has, so far all that's really been said is DS3-like tilt (meaning at least an accelerometer).

Hmm we can get with various plans for cellphone/3G:

ipads, galaxy tabs, netbooks, notebooks, PSP, PS3, Wii, X360 through warious mobile phone companies.
