Forums - General - Minimum wages?

I was wondering yesterday the news reported that British Columbia has the lowest minimum wage in Canada. This got me pissed but then they said that some States have a minimum wage as low as 5$. Starting wages here in BC are usually about 8.75$. Our currency is also on parity with the US dollar.

So I was wondering how bad we actually have it, being the lowest minimum wage in Canada it is alittle angering for me. But then I think their are people in other countries living off of a dollar a day.

So whats the minimum wage in your province, country , state? Is it higher or lower then 8$?

$7.25 federal

Some states have a lower minium wage but it's irrelevent as National supercedes state.

minimum wage? different place have different policy and different level, because different states has different economy status.

This, it's a bit misleading for a news organization to talk about our state set minimum wage as opposed to the national one.
