Same case here in Portugal...

I know 2 friends who bought a PS3 when they learnt that it could be easily pirated.

Same in Philippines. They sell pirated games at questionable retail stores, at the malls. I'm sure the Ps3 will follow suite, especially after they figure out how to pirate all games on all systems easily.

If software sales go down and hardware sales go up where will this leave Sony and its 10 year plan. Typically it will be the genuine PS3 fan who will suffer when his system is prematurely cut short forcing them down the new console route. Early days yet but if the security hole is so vast and the door simply cannot be shut...

All this just when the PS3 was making some really good headway on software sales.
